Viva Voce in Concert

Featuring Viva Voce, the select ensemble of Voices in Harmony, conducted by Steven Szalaj, Artistic Director.

Join us for a great evening of music, food and fellowship.  You will hear a sampling of  a cappella music from the past to the present, sacred and secular, historic and modern.  The dinner is excellently prepared and presented by the staff at MCC.  Come with friends and family!

Roasted Herbed Loin of Pork with roasted potatoes, stuffing, and applesauce
Grilled Glazed Salmon with rice

Dinner includes choice of entrée, Caesar Salad, Vegetable du jour, rolls and butter, regular coffee, iced tea or lemonade, ice water and dessert

Featuring Voices in Harmony, one of McHenry County’s premier adult community choirs, conducted by Steven Szalaj with accompanist Randy Casey.

Voices In Harmony presents SOAR Into SONG! – a choral concert that will make your spirit sing! On this richly varied program, you will hear music by contemporary choral composers such as Stacy Garrop, Craig Hella Johnson, Paul Rardin, Kim André Arnesen. Two works will feature french horn player Russ Henning. A highlight will be a collection of simple, beautiful a cappella settings of songs from the Shaker tradition. Your spirit will soar with words from poets Walt Whitman, Mattie J. T. Stepanek, Euan Tait and others.  A PDF of the complete program is at the link below.
