Join Encore’s summer honors string orchestra. Two levels will be offered this year. Have fun playing unique and challenging music with top musicians from across McHenry, Kane and Cook counties and surrounding areas!

Join with a recommendation from your teacher or an invitation from your director. Open to violin, viola, cello and double bass students. Two levels will be offered. Students who participated last summer do not need to submit a recommendation form.

What is the cost to join the summer string orchestra?
Summer Tuition is $195. Returning or accepted student? Email to get your registration link.
Comprehensive financial aid is available. Our goal is to make this summer program as accessible for all as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions
Students entering grades 7-9 in the Fall 2026 will be placed in Encore String Orchestra Jr. conducted by Preston Krauska.
Students entering grades 10-12 in the Fall 2026 and graduating seniors will be placed in Encore String Orchestra Sr. conducted by Terry Foster.
Returning students from the 2025 summer are invited to register by 4/1/2026 to secure their spot. No Audition is necessary.
